Essential Skills Workshops

Basic Introduction to Computers – This 10 week beginner course will teach you about the basic operation of computers, the internet, email and the iPad. Computers will be available or you can bring your own laptop. Small class sizes allow for greater assistance. Locations to be determine by registration numbers. No registration fee.

Advanced Computer Instruction – These classes are for those who can perform basic WORD skills, have an understanding of the basic features of Windows, and have a valid gmail or outlook e-mail address. Topics will include advanced Window features and Microsoft WORD as well as an introduction to Microsoft Excel. To be eligible for free registration, you must be employed, self-employed or currently seeking employment. Location to be determine by registration numbers.

Food Safety Course – Held in either St. Peter’s or Lower River when there is a minimum registration of twelve. Registration fee: $60.

Emergency First Aid/CPR Level A & AED – Held in either St. Peter’s or Lower River when there is a minimum registration of ten.           

Registration fee: $80.

A 2 Day Simply Accounting Training Session may be offered at the St. Peter’s Learning and Technology Centre on a Saturday and Sunday if there is a minimum registration of six. Hands-on activities will be the focus of the course and enable you to learn the skills and concepts more effectively. Each person will have access to a computer with the current Sage 50 Educational Version installed or you may take your own laptop and have the software installed. Registration fee: $110.

WHMIS – Available On-Line with Password. Fee: $10

New: Transportation of Dangerous Goods – Available On-Line with Password. Fee: $20
