Dedicated to lifelong learning

The Richmond County Literacy Network (RCLN) is a non-profit organization in Richmond County, Nova Scotia, dedicated to promoting lifelong learning. It offers effective programs and services, including adult learning, family literacy, and employability programs, aiming to enhance literacy skills among community members. RCLN’s commitment to literacy is reflected in its engagement with the community and its provision of valuable educational resources. Mitch David was appointed as the new executive director in September 2023, overseeing the network’s mission to support education and learning in Richmond County.

Mitch David

Mitch (left) was honored with the 25 years in service award at the Strait Area Chamber of Commerce Gala. He had been employed in various management positions within the non-profit sector for nearly 25 years. Then, in September 2023, he took on the role of Executive Director.

Ann Marie Powers

Ann Marie Powers has been working in the Human Services Industry in management, instructing, and leading community groups. Ann Marie has been with RCLN since October 2023 and has taken on a new role instructing Canadian Adult Education Credential (CAEC) and Basic Digital Literacy.

Julie Freeman

Julie has been involved in bookkeeping for most of her career in various capacities. She worked with IBM, handling accounts receivables, and also managed her own small business. She has been with RCLN since 2022 and has played a crucial role in our new start-up.

Arlene Boudreau

Arlene Boudreau has worked in various fields throughout her career, including insurance, the automotive industry, and project coordination. She will work with our community Digital Wellness learners as of September 2024.
